Recently, the CKSA moved to new headquarters: a beautiful building with several meeting rooms and office spaces, including that of the VKA (Vrije Kinderdagverblijven Antwerpen).
The large, empty walls called for decoration. We chose a 4mtr horizontal strip of chalkboard magnetic wallpaper above the cabinet wall. Which offers the best of both worlds: you can write on it and it is suitable for magnetic toppings such as shelves, planters, which are easily added or moved, without drilling or damage.
We deliberately chose black magnetic wallpaper: the color provides not only a powerful visual accent but also just that little bit of spice. To make the space more playful, we added color with paintable magnetic wallpaper in the shape of a circle and pink magnetic shelves.
In the director's office, we placed a vertical black strip, which, because of its height, reinforces the architecture of the space while giving a sense of security. A subtle blue color accent as an XL magnet adds depth and atmosphere. As elsewhere in the building, the magnetic wallpaper is perfectly usable as a base for magnets and all kinds of fun, magnetic toppings.
